I’m sure there are tons of us new people ( i just hate the word “Newbie”) out there ready to find riches in affliate and Internet Marketing who fall into a typical to do list scenario that takes you on an internet trip WAY above and beyond what was intended. My chore was simple: “Put new advertiser link on site.” What is so complex about that? My estimate of time? 15 minutes. With this chore in mind, off i go to good ole CJ.com to grab an ad i liked from my newest advertiser. I clicked on my advertiser and clicked on “get links.” I’m perusing them rejecting rejecting, thinking this “one” will fit. I keep seeing references with links to goldencan.com. What the heck is golden can? I, of course, click on the link and oh-my-God cannot believe my eyes! I almost don’t even want to talk about it because to me, it was such an incredible find! Now i’m delving into the in’s and out’s of goldencan. I mean.. who could believe that there could be something this powerful and free? My internet guru tells me dryly that i should check it out first with some internet “authorities.” So i do. I find absolutely nothing that is not GLOWING with praise! (time elapsed about 2 hours.) I sign up! I get my code, wondering if i can just paste it in a post on the blog (basically, i’m just dying to see it work!) Well that doesn’t work I find out. (another hour squeeks by as i try a few things)
I realize that I need to just upload a new page that contains the code. So.. Now i want a template for the new page. Something that looks something like the Iheart theme i use on wordpress. Of course that sends me to, you guessed it, that confusing eye-candy rich realm of TEMPLATE LAND! I have and can spend days lost in template land! Am i the only person out there with a bad case of template fever? I think not. I’m burning time now.. I spend a couple of enchanted hours looking, enjoying, considering, rejecting etc and then…dramatic pause i find something about as cool as goldencan. Its not a template, its a template BUILDER. OH yes.. and the hype is you can build a professional website in minutes blah blah. I go to the reviews of the package and find that there are some pretty heavy hitter companies extolling the virtues of this company and their product. Its not free but there is a free trial. So what the heck, i download it. It is everything the hype says. I have a blast creating and just watching what it can do.. If you are a little rusty with the ole html? dont know a lot about CSS? just want something that really works and that even the pros actually use? Check… out… Artisteer
oh.. the results of my first experiment with golden can? Frankly it was grueling. The Php code didn’t work outa the box but with the help of my expert coder.. i got it… its right here
